Southeastern Med Pain Management helps patients who are experiencing chronic pain. What does chronic pain mean?
Chronic pain is an ongoing pain that lasts for six months or longer. Sometimes this pain can be traced to an injury, and other times there is no easily traceable cause. Unlike acute pain, which can be caused by a surgical procedure, a traumatic injury, or giving birth, chronic pain can be caused by conditions like arthritis, fibromyalgia, and cancer.
Chronic pain is not just an ailment that impacts the area where the pain resides. Someone who is struggling with chronic pain may tense their muscles, which can cause more pain. Chronic pain can cause depression, anger, loss of appetite, and a fear of getting out and moving around.
If you or someone you love is struggling with chronic pain, Southeastern Med Pain Management is here to help.
