Dr. Colby, a Youngstown native, attended the Ohio University School of Osteopathic Medicine becoming a D.O. in 1988. He completed his internship and residency at Youngstown Osteopathic Hospital, Youngstown, OH and Western Reserve Care System in Youngstown in 1992.

Dr. Colby is Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
